Q:  What is the DPCA COPE/Rescue Committee?

A:  The Doberman Pinscher Club of America COPE/Rescue Committee ("COPE") solicits funds to help support Doberman Rescue throughout the United States.  COPE distributes funds to individuals and Doberman Rescue organizations who request reimbursement for certain medical expenses incurred for rescue Dobermans in their care.  COPE provides information to assist people in establishing and operating Doberman Rescue groups and maintains a list of Doberman Rescue individuals and organizations.  COPE encourages responsible Doberman Pinscher ownership by educating actual and prospective Doberman Pinscher owners concerning the problems of overpopulation and abandonment.
 

Q:  What is the COPE/Rescue Auction?

A:  The COPE/Rescue Auction is an annual internet auction that benefits various Doberman rescues throughout the United States.  The auction is conducted by volunteers (COPE/Rescue Committee members).  All items for auction have been donated to benefit the dogs.  Payment for each Auction will be made payable to the Doberman Pinscher Club of America.  All proceeds (less eBay fees and actual shipping costs) go directly to into the COPE fund, which is administered by the DPCA's treasurer.  No individuals profit from this auction, it all goes to the dogs.
 

Q:  How does the COPE fund benefit the dogs?

A:  Qualified rescues submit reimbursement requests for allowed veterinary expenses to the COPE Committee.  The COPE Committee requests the DPCA treasurer to pay all or a pro-rated percentage of the reimbursement requests, depending on available funds.  The DPCA treasurer sends the reimbursement checks to the rescues.  Your winning bids will go directly into the COPE fund and will be used for spay/neuter and other allowable veterinary expenses, allowing rescues to place more dogs in loving family homes!
